Purpose
The Eastern Monmouth Sports Association was formed in 1987 to provide a service of coordination of baseball programs among its member communities. The ideal that EMSA is built upon is to provide an evenly balanced playing field for all youngsters, whether they belong to a community of six teams or one of only one team. EMSA mandates that each and every youngster who signs up within a specified age grouping are permitted to play baseball and that all teams be re-drafted each year based on talent evaluation. These requirements should help us achieve our goal of balanced teams within each community. In the process, we have knit together many communities who until the formation of EMSA had no other intra-community organization of which to belong.
Membership within EMSA is very easily attained. As stated above choose all or any one of the three baseball leagues which we coordinate (Colt League ages 13&14; Senior League ages 11&12; Junior League ages 10 and under). Submit a master list of youngsters within your community who have signed-up within a particular age group and then submit rosters of your teams with managers names, phone number, email address and the players names with DOB, and a copy of their birth certificates.
In addition EMSA requires that all managers and at least one coach from each team be certified under a New Jersey state approved coaches certification program. Proof of liability insurance provided to EMSA encompassing all fields within your community is required.
